Academic Publications
There is a very long list of things I would rather do than write purely academic work and being punched in the gut is on the list. This type of writing is no fun for me (aside from my awesome co-authors). It is formulaic and lacks personality. It is a bummer. Nonetheless, it is part of my job so I have written papers, chapters, and cases; all tied together with the thread of understanding why people do what they do through an ethical lens. Some of these papers have super interesting findings but the way we have to explain them is an express ride to snooze town. There is also little room for sarcasm or swearing in academic publications which is a real disappointment.
